应能动学院陶文铨院士邀请，英国斯特拉斯克莱德大学肖清博士将于2015年12月15日下午四点半在能动学院东三楼东汽报告厅做题为“Computational Fluid-Structure Dynamics Investigation on Flow Physics in Biomimetic and Marine Renewable Energy Applications”的报告，请大家积极参加。
Qing Xiao is Senior Lecturer of Marine Hydrodynamicsin the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering (NAOME) at Strathclyde University, UK.She is leading a Computational Fluid Dynamics & Computational Structural Dynamics research group at NAOME. Her major research interests are computational/experimental fluid dynamics with particular interests in biomimetics, renewable energy devices and offshore fluid-structure-interaction problems. Her current research projects are funded by Royal Society, Engineering Physics Science Research Council (UK), Royal Academy Engineeringandindustrycompanies. She is a senior Member of the AIAA, a Member of ISOPE, ASME and BIOKON. Dr Xiao is editorial member of Ocean Engineering.
In this talk, the research work currently being performed in a CFD research group at NAOME department in the Strathclyde University UK will be introduced. Particular interests will focus on the investigation for bio-inspired swimming fish and flapping wing using a numerical modelling method. This will further extend to the recently developed industrial biomimetic applications in renewable energy devices. Other CFD and CSD studies in offshore engineering will be described, such as the dynamics response of floating offshore structure andrigid/flexible riser Vortex Induced Vibration.
